I don’t really have a theme for this blog post. It’s literally just a bunch of random things I want to share…from updates on our activities to other little random happenings. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Valpolicella: The other weekend, we road tripped to Valpolicella, Italy (near Verona) for a long weekend with some friends. We have never been to this part of Italy before and so when asked to join, we immediately said yes. We stayed at this villa and it was four fantastic days of pool time, fun with friends, amazing wine, and delicious food. Is there anything more you need in life?
Also, if someone can tell me how I can make a living in Italy, that would be great because I would move there in half a second. Give me a couple of vines and a block of cheese and I’m pretty much set.
Bud Heavies: Speaking of Italy, we were able to find bud heavies in the grocery stores, something we have yet to find here in Munich. So, this bud’s for you, Dado.
Random adventures on the U-bahn: This episode includes teenagers carrying around a punching bag, an awesome Bavarian guy with the sweetest facial hair I have ever seen in my entire life, and two sweaty weirdos having a couple of beers (because you can).
I started Crossfit: And that’s all I’m going to say about that because I swore an oath to my friends that I would not post about it on social media (this doesn’t count, right?).
Fat Cat has not started CrossFit: I get a lot of questions about Kiki and in spite of losing a few lbs, she is still
fat healthy and glowing.
You is gorgeous: If you are a sucker for prettiness and flowers, I suggest taking a stroll through the gardens of Schloss Nymphenburg in the spring or summer if you have the opportunity. It’s expansive gardens are stunning and feel almost like a mini-Versailles. Just check out these beauties:
Taxi Cab Confessions: Sorry, Mr. Cabbie, for taking a stealth pic of you the other evening. Not only was your mullet spot on but you got us to our apartment in record time and you kept your cool when Jerry and I were thisclose to breaking your automatic van doors because that kind of technology is way beyond our comprehension. You rock.
Auf Wiedersehen Sommer! The summer is flying by and I am honestly okay with that. I am really really looking forward to this Fall for a whole variety of reasons. For starters, the arrival of Fall means cooler weather and me no longer sweating my balls off at work, at home, outside, inside, everywhere, while I’m sleeping, while I’m awake, you get the idea. Like this has literally been my bed for almost two months because its the coolest space in the apartment:
But the biggest reason I’m ready for summer to be over is that the loves of my life are coming at the end of the September! And I just cannot wait to spend five glorious days with them. I am so excited that I have pretty much already sketched out rough ideas for what we can do each day, where we will be eating, what I want to show them, etc. Bananas. I know. Did you not see my last post? I miss my peeps, k?
Then right after that, Jerry’s family comes for a visit, then we have one free weekend to move to a new apartment, then the next weekend, we will meet up with some dear friends in Nice, and then the following weekend, we have two more friends coming to visit! Can.not.wait!!! And then, November will come and you know what that brings? Christmas markets! Holy hell I am excited. So get to steppin, August. It’s been real.
And finally…I’m okay!: After my last post about me blithering on like a weepy baby, I got a lot of concerned responses. But have no fear, I am okay. I was just having a moment and I felt that posting it for the world was the best course of action (I’m really smart).
All that said, I think it’s important to feature the great and the not-so-great parts about living abroad on this blog. Some people paint this fairy tale image of it and I feel the need to be honest and to show you both sides. So hang in there with me, friends. 🙂
