I’ve said in the past that I don’t really do New Year’s resolutions. I feel like resolutions never stick, whereas goals are a little more concrete. In reality, they are essentially the same thing so really, I’m just being a turd about it. Anyway, here are my goals for 2018:
Stay in better touch with people: I have had periods where I go months without talking to my parents or friends from back home, and it has nothing to do with how much I care about them and everything to do with how lazy or forgetful I can be. So, if you have FaceTime or FB Messenger or some other type of messaging apparatus, get ready because I’m going to be calling you, whether you want me to or not.

Cut down on sugar: I already eat halfway decently and workout five times a week (#humblebrag) but I really could stand to cut down on the sugar intake. I keep reading all these articles about how sugar causes cancer and oodles of other problems and seeing as I’m no spring chicken anymore, it’s got me all antsy in my pantsy. Therefore, the goal is to reduce how much sugar I eat.. you know, like maybe not eat the entire tub of Fisher’s caramel popcorn that my cousin-in-law gave us for Christmas. That kind of thing.

Be more giving: Last year, my goal was to express more gratitude and while that will continue this year, I am also going to try and be more giving/selfless. I’m not entirely sure what this means yet, which violates pretty much all of the tenants of what it means to make a solid goal (not specific, measurable, and whatever the rest of SMART stands for…). All I know is that I can be a selfish butthole sometimes and I need to do better. So I’m gonna.

I will focus on these three for now and see how it goes. Feel free to call me out or check me on them at any point this year, especially if you haven’t heard from me lately or if you see me elbow deep in some chocolate cake.
